Bringing the world of science to the gulf coast
The Exploreum is an exceptional regional science center for adventurers of all ages. Interactive science exhibits and big screen films provide everyone an entertaining outing for the mind. The Exploreum houses the only Domed IMAX Theater on the Gulf Coast, the only full scale chemistry lab where visitors can participate in experiments and the only 3-D virtual theater! The Gulf Coast Exploreum is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering science literacy and making science fun.
The Gulf Coast Exploreum has six permanent attractions/exhibit halls - the IMAX Dome Theater, Hands on Hall, the Wharf of Wonder, Minds on Hall, the Ciba Lab and the Digital Journey Virtual Theater. The Exploreum also hosts traveling exhibits throughout the year. For the 2007 year:

The Exploreum has been voted the #1 family attraction in south Alabama for five consecutive years and was the most visited attraction in south Alabama in 2005. The Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel named two Gulf Coast Exploreum traveling exhibits as their "Event of the Year" for the state of Alabama - the 2002 exhibit "China: 7000 years of innovation" and the 2005 exhibit "The Dead Sea Scrolls."
The Exploreum is located at 65 Government Street in Historic Downtown Mobile at the corner of Water and Government Streets, Exit 26B, Interstate 10.
